Melbourne cleaning service with a cause

We are a social enterprise of the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) that exists to create employment pathways for people seeking asylum. Through providing quality domestic and commercial cleaning services we create opportunities for employment and training. These opportunities help people seeking asylum build the skills and experience they need to pursue sustainable employment in the Australian workforce.

Creating true impact through Social Enterprise

As a social enterprise we create positive social impact through sustainable business. We know that employment means far more than just having a job; it means connecting with community, finding financial independence, and regaining a sense of purpose.

As part of the ASRC it is our mission to meet critical unmet needs for our community. For people seeking asylum with low levels of English and a lack of Australian work experience, finding employment to survive and thrive can be a huge challenge.

How it works:

We work in conjunction with the ASRC Employment and ASRC Education programs to assess the skill, language and needs of employment candidates. These candidates then undertake supervised training with ASRC Cleaning where they learn core skills to become work ready.

These core skills include:

  • Technical skills

  • Language, literacy and numeracy skills

  • Soft skills - including planning and organising, problem solving and working in teams

In addition to these skills, our cleaners complete OH&S training and many complete a Certificate II in Cleaning.

Through on the job training and additional support in Education and casework, our cleaners gain skills, Australian work experience and the confidence to create a pathway into sustainable employment in a job or industry of their preference.
